My name is Caelen McQuilkin
I am passionate about writing and sharing stories that build community and solidarity. I recently graduated from Amherst College, where I majored in English and American Studies. I’ve worked as a managing features editor at The Amherst Student, a staff reporter for The Mammoth Times, and a summer intern at The Current Georgia.
My interviewing, research, and writing is aimed to uplift the stories that complicate the narratives of places, taking a specific focus on the gender, class, and race.
I also care deeply about teaching, and since graduating from college, I have been working in jobs to learn more about this, including substitute teaching and leading interpretive tours as a naturalist.
